Reframe Celebrates 10 Years With The Launch of a Six Part Content Series
In celebration of 10 years since the launch of Reframe Consulting Services and publishing of Reframe The Marketplace: The Total Market Approach To The New Majority, we are launching a six part content series!
Think of it as a bit of revisionist history for the marketing and communications industry!
The objective of the series is to help leaders better understand how to future proof their business using inclusive change and growth practices. The content series includes both written and video content appearing on our website, social media and learning channels. We use historical videos, and interviews conducted over the years in a podcast-like format to interview industry thought leaders and contributors.
We will use different formats for featuring stories while looking back to see if our original thesis was right or we need to pivot. We asked leaders to chime in on the one burning industry question, What’s Changed Over The Years?
The reason for writing the Wiley published book, Reframe The Marketplace: The Total Market Approach To The New Majority was to provide a playbook for change and introduce leaders to an innovative approach that accelerates inclusive change and growth. We thought and set-out to prove the idea of the “general market” and “multicultural” service model was dated and how the Total Market Approach to inclusive customer experience design was a better option.
The content series kicks off with our founder and CEO at his former company, Ogilvy when he was leading the industry’s first cultural practice, OgilvyCULTURE. Some would say they were way ahead of their time. Part of the pitch internally for the business case was the growth of the New Majority market, a reference for when combined Blacks, Hispanics, Asians and LGBTQ+ account for more than 51% of the United States population.
The book is based on my 20+ years of leadership experience and launching OgilvyCULTURE. The great Stuart Elliot, wrote and published a New York Times profile to document the historical moment.
What was evident with the 2010 United Census, America was changing at an accelerated pace. The question for leaders and businesses was the tension between the old way versus a new way in meeting the challenge of building inclusive customer and employee experiences.
After launching OgilvyCULTURE in 2010, The Cross-Cultural Report was published to make the business case for leaders. It was a first of its kind white paper featuring a number of collaborators and cultural leaders.

The rationale for writing and publishing the Cross-Cultural Report was to educate and amplify why brands and businesses should make the change become more inclusive in their workplace and marketplace practices. Leaders were introduced to the following topics:
- cultural contributors,
- a perspective for how the industry needs to prepare for the New Majority,
- the proposed new marketplace approach,
- a point of view for how the new approach increases value and
- the impact it can make for leaders and brands.
The first of the six part content series tells the origins for why we were sounding the alarm for leaders and how they need to change their go-to-market approach for the New Majority marketplace. Have leaders changed their approach?
Ogilvy really got behind OgilvyCULTURE and the Total Market Approach. With a budget, executive producer, Jeffrey L. Bowman and his producing partner, Sidra Smith, created a roundtable discussion – Think Meet The Press-like format discussion hosted by three time Emmy and Peabody award winning journalist, Soledad O’Brien.
It was a discussion with industry thought leaders, about the Cross-Cultural Report and implications for the advertising industry. Watch and listen to the discussion:
More to come in the upcoming series where we celebrate Reframe Consulting Services turning 10 and Reframe The Marketplace: The Total Market Approach To The New Majority. We invite you to engage, read, watch and ask questions you may have.
